Monster Magnet

Monster Magnet formed in Red Bank, New Jersey in 1989 and brought a space-rock and psychedelic dimension to the stoner rock genre. Dave Wyndorf's songwriting blended the riff-worship of Sabbath with the cosmic imagery of 1970s science fiction and the swagger of classic hard rock. Spine of God and Powertrip are their signature records, the latter crossing over to mainstream rock radio with Space Lord. They were among the first stoner rock bands to achieve significant commercial visibility.
