Kings of Leon
Kings of Leon formed in Nashville in 1999, built around brothers Caleb, Nathan, and Jared Followill and their cousin Matthew Followill. The sons of a United Pentecostal preacher who spent their childhood traveling the American South in a purple Oldsmobile, they discovered rock music as teenagers and locked themselves in a basement to write their debut. Their first two albums blended Southern boogie and garage rock before Only by the Night in 2008 broke them globally with Sex on Fire and Use Somebody. They have sustained one of the longest-running family band careers in modern rock.
