Wet Leg

Wet Leg formed on the Isle of Wight in 2019, when Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers began writing songs that combined post-punk's structural economy with a distinctly dry, self-aware humor. Their self-titled debut album in 2022, preceded by the viral single Chaise Longue, announced a band capable of writing deceptively simple guitar pop that lodged in the brain while maintaining an undercurrent of anxiety and absurdism. Teasdale's deadpan vocal delivery and Chambers' complementary guitar lines create a sound that recalls the playfulness of early B-52's filtered through the slacker sensibility of Pavement. Their 2025 album Moisturizer expanded their sonic ambitions while maintaining the wry lyrical perspective that distinguished them from the broader post-punk revival. The band's rapid ascent from Isle of Wight DIY shows to festival headlining slots reflects both the infectious quality of their hooks and a cultural appetite for guitar music that doesn't take itself too seriously. Their live shows balance tight musicianship with a casual, anti-performative stage presence that reinforces their lyrical themes of millennial ennui.
