Joyce Manor

Joyce Manor formed in Torrance, California in 2008, becoming one of the most influential bands in the melodic punk and pop punk underground. Their self-titled debut (2011) established a template of extremely short, hook-dense songs with distorted guitars and emotionally direct lyrics. Of All Things I Will Soon Grow Tired (2012) and Never Hungover Again (2014) cemented their reputation. Cody (2016), produced by Rob Cavallo (Green Day, Goo Goo Dolls), was a deliberate step toward a cleaner, more polished sound that divided fans. 40 oz. to Fresno (2022) returned to rawer territory. Joyce Manor's influence on the pop punk and emo revival of the 2010s and 2020s is substantial — virtually every band in the scene cites them.
