Walrus Audio Slö
The Walrus Audio Slö is an ambient reverb pedal designed for creating expansive, evolving soundscapes that extend well beyond conventional reverb territory. Its three algorithms — Dream, Rise, and Dark — each offer a distinct character: Dream delivers a latched pad that sustains indefinitely, Rise introduces a slow-attack volume swell into the reverb tail, and Dark applies a low-pass filter for submerged, murky textures. The sustain switch allows players to freeze the current reverb wash and play over it, effectively turning the guitar into a pad instrument. Sophie Allison of Soccer Mommy pairs the Slö with the Caroline Météore, using the Slö's ambient shimmer as a counterpoint to the Météore's lo-fi grit. The pedal's X knob modifies each algorithm's behavior, adding modulation depth, attack time, or filter cutoff depending on the selected mode. The Slö has found widespread adoption among ambient guitarists, shoegaze players, and post-rock musicians who need lush, cinematic reverb textures that respond dynamically to playing input.
