American rock band formed in Issaquah, Washington in 1992 by vocalist and guitarist Isaac Brock. One of the most distinctive voices in American indie rock — Brock's guitar playing is angular, aggressive, and melodically unpredictable, running through distorted amplifiers with a physical intensity that matches his vocal delivery. This Is a Long Drive and The Lonesome Crowded West are the classic records. Float On in 2004 gave them their only mainstream hit. Brock plays Fender Jaguars and Jazzmasters through Fender and Marshall amplification.
