Brandi Carlile
Brandi Carlile was born in Ravensdale, Washington in 1981 and dropped out of high school to busk and play every small venue in the Seattle area before Columbia Records signed her in 2004. She spent over a decade as a respected but commercially mid-tier Americana artist before By the Way, I Forgive You in 2018 broke her into the mainstream with six Grammy nominations and a performance of The Joke at the 61st Grammy Awards that stopped the show. She has since won eleven Grammys across twenty-four nominations, co-produced Tanya Tucker's comeback album, formed the Highwomen, and released In These Silent Days in 2021. Her creative partnership with twin brothers Tim and Phil Hanseroth has defined her sound from the beginning.
