Gibson Dove
The Gibson Dove is a square-shouldered dreadnought with maple back and sides, producing a bright, projecting tone with crisp high-end shimmer. Introduced in 1962, its ornate pickguard featuring hand-painted doves and its distinctive cherry sunburst finish made it one of Gibson's most visually striking acoustics. Elvis Presley played a Dove during his 1968 Comeback Special and later performances, its bright maple voice cutting through the band while its large body provided the visual stage presence that matched his performance style.
