EVH 5150 Amplifier
The 5150 amplifier was co-designed by Eddie Van Halen and Peavey in 1992, finally giving players access to Eddie's exact high-gain tone in a production amplifier. Its three 12AX7 preamp tubes drive two channels — rhythm and lead — with the lead channel delivering the saturated, harmonically rich distortion that defined Van Halen's later albums. The 5150's tight low end, aggressive midrange, and sizzling high frequencies made it the standard for modern high-gain amplification. After Eddie's departure from the Peavey partnership, the amp continued as the EVH 5150III, maintaining the same DNA with expanded feature sets.
