A permanent fixture on Dean Ween's pedalboard. The Whammy is a pitch-shifting expression pedal that allows real-time pitch bending up or down by one or two octaves, plus harmonized intervals. Ween's capacity to lurch between gentle melodic passages and deranged pitch-shifted noise owes a significant debt to this pedal.
