Colorsound Overdriver
The Colorsound Overdriver is a vintage British overdrive pedal from the early 1970s that produces a thick, saturated distortion with pronounced midrange. Unlike American distortion pedals of the era, the Colorsound delivers a uniquely aggressive, biting tone with considerable output volume that can push any amp into heavy overdrive. Alex Lifeson of Rush used the Colorsound Overdriver as a key element of his progressive rock tone, its thick distortion providing the aggressive edge needed for Rush's heavier passages while retaining enough articulation for complex chord voicings and arpeggiated passages.
