King Crimson

English progressive rock band formed in London in 1968 by guitarist Robert Fripp. One of the most musically adventurous bands in rock history — their debut album In the Court of the Crimson King arrived fully formed and unlike anything else in existence, blending jazz, classical, and hard rock with an experimental edge that defined progressive rock. Fripp plays a Gibson Les Paul and later a custom Roland guitar synthesizer setup, processed through Frippertronics tape loop systems. The band has had over twenty members across its history.
